Lauren Lawhon is President and Chief Operating Officer at Health Union. Lauren has effectively led Health Union through a period of impressive growth, including increases in revenue, employees and the number of people impacted by the company’s growing portfolio of condition-specific online health communities. She has done this while creating and continually improving Health Union’s organizational structure, operational efficiency and effectiveness across all business units to align with its fast-paced growth. With over 20 years’ progressive experience in digital marketing, communications, brand strategy and program management across multiple industries including healthcare, biopharmaceutical, and nonprofit charities, Lauren has a unique ability to create understanding, encourage collaboration, and push for progress — all while ensuring that Health Union’s people-first culture is prioritized.



Amrita Bhowmick

Chief Community Officer
Amrita Bhowmick, MBA, MPH, Ed.D, is chief community officer at Health Union where she leads the development, execution and growth of an online health community model that has proven outcomes for people living with a wide range of chronic and complex conditions. Amrita has been published numerous times on the value of patient engagement within communities of practice.



Julie Croner

Vice President of Community Development
Julie Croner serves as the Vice President of Community Development for Health Union. She holds a B.S in Business Administration, Management Information Systems from West Virginia University, is an American Association of Drugless Practitioners Certified Holistic Health Coach, and is a certified yoga instructor. After a career in IT consulting had to be put on hold, Julie found the world of patient advocacy and realized her life’s work was to advocate for all health leaders.

Starting her personal advocacy site (itsjustabadday.com), Julie lives out her mission everyday and hasn’t looked back since! Her work has been recognized by numerous platforms including Stanford MedX, The National Psoriasis Foundation, Everyday Health, Healthline, WebMD, The Mighty, in 2020 was named to the MM&M 40 under 40 class of healthcare marketers, and won the 2021 Reuters Events Global Pharma Awards Patient Champion: Patient Advocate Award. When she’s not working to empower the patient voice you can find Julie jamming out to Celine Dion (or Cocomelon), attempting to fit in a yoga sesh between 3 crying kids, trying a new recipe for dinner, or enjoying life in Pittsburgh, PA!
